our history

The work of TDAI began in 1976 when Dr. Jim Di Raddo was invited by Christian and Missionary Alliance church to speak at their Missionary Field Conference at the schools teaching missionary children: Woodstock School in Mussoorie in North India and Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu in the South of India.  There were a few more trips to work with the schools and also to lecture at Union Biblical Seminary in Pune, Maharastra.

In the years since, Jim and his wife, Dr. Colleen Di Raddo, ministered at the Pastors' Conference of the Federation of Evangelical Churches of India.  Through Gabriel Massey, Executive Secretary of FECI, Jim continued to serve at pastors' conferences and to teach at Bible Schools and Seminaries.

After a number of years, a decision was made to focus on North India in the area of disciple-making, and ministering to leaders and pastors of villages and tribes.  The desire was to help those Indian evangelists to be more effective preaching in the language of the people.

After almost 25 years of that ministry, we learned of a more effective way that reflected a more culturally adopted process, known as Church Planting Ministry (CPM) and Disciple Making Movement (DMM).  So we retooled and continued to minister in Punjab and also in North Bengal, Kalimpong and Purnea, Bihar.

In 2013, Jim was introduced to the Kairos Course by Team Expansion, a missionary training and sending organization in Kentucky, USA.  He completed the course and immediately took the Facilitator Training.  In 2014, Colleen followed suit, and in early 2015 they brought the Kairos Course to Dover, DE.  In the years following, more facilitators were training, and Jim and Colleen attained Head Facilitator credentials, as well as several of those that took the Kairos Course under them.  Eventually, a Northeast US Coordinating Team was formed with Head Facilitators in Baltimore, New York City, and Delaware.

Recently, the Kairos Course has been expanded by adding new courses targeted at churches and para-church organizations.  These are offered under a new international organization called Simply Mobilizing.  As we look forward, we are excited at the possibilities of mobilizing the Church to complete the Great Commission by these courses.
